Red and Blue Punch Birthday Party Drinks

Video: My 26th Birthday Party on GoPro's Time-laspe Youtube Video

It's time to take a break from my sad posts this week and present you with some birthday FUN. On Sunday I turned 26 and my boyfriend Hughie turned 26 on Monday. We threw a birthday party over the weekend; we had a cocktail party where we each presented a 'The Natalie' punch (that was a red 'Sex on the Beach') and a 'The Hughie' punch (that was a blue 'The Blue Hawaiian').
Then we had competitive teams for the our favourite drinking game Beer Pong and my team was Team Red and Hughie's was Team Blue. In the end Team Blue won 9 games to 6 (I want a re-match because I was too drunk for most of the games!).
So, Hughie decided to take 5000 photos of our party on Time-laspe. He made up a video and then spliced images from people's cameras. The Party went from 8PM to 3AM but Hughie managed to condense it to about 7mins. There are funny moments where we catch the times me and Hughie went to vomit and when my friend slipped on a slipper and hurt his ankle. Happy Viewing!

A Party: My Best Friend's Hens Bridal Party (Photos taken by me with my Nikon D60, 50mm f1.4 lens) at Meriton Apartments World Square

So boys and girls, the month of April so far has been a very busy one. I've disappeared for days now attending my best friend's traditional Laos wedding, preparing her hen's night and soon will be Maid of Honor at the official ceremony.
Unfortunately, the hen's night was straight after MBFWA; and I had been a very naughty girl not preparing enough in advance for the party. I decided to skip a couple of valuable days at MBFWA to sort out things: home-made playdough (for the pecker game hehe), find a dart board, itinerary, sending out quizzes, , looking for my school girl outfit, ordering sashes and items and working shift work in between.
I was a stress head the morning of the Hens Party but by the afternoon I was on ease, the girls at the hens party really, really love Reeni and prepared really well for the party. I was so grateful and proud to create a special day for Reeni with these girls.
We had morning tea, with most of our food being home-made. We had scones with jam and cream, sushi, penguin cupcakes (Reeni's favourite animal!), salmon cream cheese/ egg mayo finger sandwiches, macaroons,  fruit skewers and chocolate fondue. And of course plenty of flowing pink champagne.
To enhance the night even more, I HAD to go online and search for the best adult entertainer in Sydney - Porter (from Adult Events). He was a charming man from Britain and he dressed really well topping our champagne and participating in all our cheesy hens games. He really made my friend feel at ease and courted her around the room.
Then that night, we surprised Reeni with a school girl theme. I broke into Reeni's house to steal her tartan skirt and a white shirt the day before. We dressed her in pig tails and gave her socks to doll her up. So, imagine 10 girls all in school uniform costumes and pink sashes. We really attracted alot of attention in the city and lots of random people took our photos and gave us free cupcakes and entries into the club. In the end we were so tired and drunk we ended up back at the hotel continuing to laugh, peeling our makeup off and unbraiding our hair. I was the first to fall asleep and I woke up very, very hungover.
Congratulations Reeni!

A Personal Event: New Years Day BBQ 2013 with my friends (thanking ING DIRECT and their Wave and Save promotion  for funding my experience)

As most of you know, I started my New Years Day working. I actually started at 4am and ended my shift at 12pm. It meant I had a quiet moment when the clock striked midnight 1st January 2013.
Although I had a quiet night, I was determined to make it a wonderful and fulfilling day. With 10 of my best friends over we set up the Aussie BBQ and grilled sausages, Haloumi cheese, honey soy chicken, prawns and onions. I packed my plate with the meat, home-made creamy potato salad and fruit and ate merrily.
I was humbled by the company of my friends, in which we settled on drinking beers and chilling for the rest of the afternoon. Then, suddenly, my boyfriend's relatives came home carrying a huge bucket full of freshly caught cockles (they are like mini mussels). Too excited, we got pots out and started cooking them - dipping them into salt, pepper, lemon juice and chilli flake mix.
Fuelled with fresh seafood, we taught some of friends the game BEER PONG and from there I can't remember much of the night. Except we challenged each other in at least 20 rounds of the game, and got too drunk to take any more photos or eat any more food. Happy New Year!
