An Event: Drags and Divas Runway Show hosted by The Australasian College Broadway 2014 (photos taken by me and also provided by The Australasian College)

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending The Australasian College's Drags and Divas Runway Show, a pre-party to the Mardi Gras 2014 and a chance for the students to showcase their talents and skills in beauty, make-up and hair.
I was super impressed. When I arrived the atmosphere was lively and fun, with students finishing up their looks, kids dancing on the stage to Lady Gaga, teachers walking around who were clearly proud of their students and drags queens relaxing, having a good laugh.

Before the Runway show started, there was s special performance by the beautiful Ivy League and her entourage, setting the tone for the whole show. Then the glamorous and fabulous models strut the runway with sensational make-up, hair and costumes designed by the talented students rounding up to an hour long event. I witnessed the latest trends for the Mardi Gras event for 2014- lots of glitter, bold eyeliner, dramatic eyelashes and striking lipstick. The face contouring technique was immaculate. We danced and cheered along to the tunes of Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Kylie Minouge.  As a VIP amongst the 100+ guests that attended the show, I was treated to a tour of the college (which was grande with lots of wonderful learning facilities) and mingled with the students and teachers.

What a fabulous job the students and teachers accomplished! As a College graduate myself for Fashion and Design, I remember how proud I felt when my work was showcased in a runway show like this. What a wonderful and supporting College this is and I wish the students a satisfying and fulfilling career.

A Beauty Review: Sigma Beauty's Flat Kabuki Brush

A Product Review: Sigma Beauty's Flat Kabuki Brush with Napoleon Baked Powder Blush set

I recently started using my Sigma Beauty Flat Kabuki Brush to apply blush to my cheeks as part of my daily routine. It's meant to be used to apply liquid or creams to flat surfaces to your face but I like it as my blush brush. It's soft, smooth and picks up the powder easily and distributes it evenly along my cheeks. To be honest I've been using my fingers to apply my blush but I notice the difference now with the brush. I used to have streaky blush where I didn't have an even application of colour. But now its even and I guess the right word is... fluffy? You can see it in the photos above - my blush here is all applied with my new Sigma Brush. With my dark skin it gently adds a glow of colour to my face where needed.

P.S I've just touched down from Melbourne last night. I will soon be posting some amazing photos from Melbourne soon! Stay tuned, miss you guys xx

If in Doubt, Always wear Lipstick: A Makeup Series

Thursday, July 5, 2012

I thought I'd share some of my favourite lipsticks at the moment.
I own 27 lipsticks and still counting. I love lipsticks, they are all my other 'lovers'.

Also, the creators at Modiface has an Iphone/Ipad application called 'Makeup' in which you can upload your photo and add cosmetics to your face to test it out virtually. What a brilliant idea, it saves a trip to the Cosmetics store. And when you're done you can email your looks to yourself or post to Facebook. Check it out here.
