A Halloween to remember and a sexy cat costume! (Plus a blogger interview)

Wednesday, October 26, 2011

Unknown strapless dress (similar here or here)
Mollini nude shoes (very similar here)
Nekochii cat ears (similar here)

Hello all! Thank you for all the comments, everyone seemed to have been able to relate to me from my last situation I was in, and I thank you for the kind support and words!

I had an early Halloween party this week, and I dressed up in a sexy black and pink dress and matched some cat ears to it, and tied a black ribbon to my neck. Hope you like my outfit. As you know in Sydney Halloween is not celebrated as elaborately as America so I couldn't go all out, just decided to dress up less dramatically. If I could get away with it, I would've put on a big cat suit with those big paws and meowed my way on the streets. Even though I'm allergic to cats.

I am doing a quick post today, because I don't want to distract from my blogger interview that I had going. From my first give-away, I was meant to feature four bloggers, but Damar couldn't get her pictures and answers ready in time. But now she is ready so please see below :)

Blogger Interview number 4: Making My Own Fashion (continuing from my first give away..)

Damar from Making my Own Fashion, a fun and unique style....

 1) Can you tell us a little about yourself and your blog?
My name is Damar and I am a fashion designer and passionate about the creation, with the fact that we have the power to transform ANYTHING around us into something better, and my blog is a bit of that, Making my own Fashion, where I usually transform fabrics into pieces of clothing,  I also include a bit of trashing and a touch of photography ...

2) How you first got involved in with blogging?
I opened the blog in April 2011 looking for a way to show my designs in a more entertaining and personal way... working on this idea emerged Making my own Fashion, as its name says, I make my fashion .. I have so much fun doing the posts, most of the photos are taken by myself, behind each one of the pictures is on an incredible run. Runs ... has become my exercise and has helped me to explore and discover aspects of myself that I never knew existed ...

3) Name some of the bloggers whom you look up to and why?
My favorites blogs are, Aminta (Aminta's fashion) because she has a very unique style and gives it to each post a passion that is contagious. The Audrey Leighton blog (be Frassy) for the way she handles the business side, the "Mis papelitos" blog because in each post she reinforces that there is no limit to age for have fun with fashion ... I also like "Take only memories" and "Marmalade style" because they have some incredible photographs ...

Thank you Damar, and have a good Halloween everyone!
Can't wait to see your costumes!!

xx Natalie

A beautiful DIY skirt for a beautiful night with the girls

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

Valleygirl strapless top
DIY pencil skirt
Mollini heels
Rayban aviators
Fossil watch
Hi all! Thank you again for all you comments. So sweet. And I suddenly hit over 80 comments on my last post. I'm so stoked, love you all!

Today I wear my favourite DIY skirt. I bought the fabric locally because I fell in love with it completely. It had a metallic shine with a rough finish but its certainly unique. And for the skirt block, I followed an old skirt block from my old Fashion Design course, then added a pretty ruffle at the waist. Do you guys like it?

Oh and good news, my best friend just got engaged! I'm so happy for her!

I am also Maid of honour. I'm absolutely looking forward to getting her trashed for her hens night, helping her pick out her wedding dress, and help her stick to her "wedding" diet. The joys of being a Maid of Honour. I also will carry around around some chocolate just in case she gets stressed, haha.

Tonight, I had a nice dinner with girls in the city to celebrate her engagement. I dressed simply but of course I add my own style to it. Did you also notice I did my hair? I am not very happy with it, but I will fix it with my colour shampoo. My pick: De lorenzo 'Rosewood' color shampoo. Makes my blonde hair beige over a few days.
Have a nice week everyone~ !

xx Natalie

P.S Thanks to Patrick for taking my dear photos!

If your week sucked, let this colourful dress cheer you up

What I wore today:
Warehouse dress (find Warehouse dresses here)
Mollini shoes (find similar shoes here)
Fossil Watch  (find item here)
Christian Dior 'Orange Psychedelic' nail polish
Topshop 'Brighton Rock" lipstick (find item here)

Hi Boys and girls, did you all have a nice week? I hope you did, because mine was just so-so. The only things that really helped me get through the week was the arrival of my shopping parcels. YES, I ADMIT IT... I am a shopaholic.. but only an online shopaholic... which I guess is quite worse. It is so easy to just click "buy" online and watch a couple of 2 (or 3... or 4....) digit numbers disappear from your bank account. But you know, I am technically a professional 'buyer' I do have the word 'buy' in my job title,  so I guess I can call it 'work'.  Hahaha

A couple of things from my shopping parcels: some new MAC makeup (my favorite was the blush "Springsheen"), My vintage gold head piece from Esty (I will show you guys soon!) and my new IPHONE 4. Yes, I'm back to the iphone. I was a Blackberry user before this but I originally was a loyal iphoner. Until I started to crave "real" buttons, that is.
But now I'm back baby, and I'm loving it. Did you guys know The Sartorialist has their OWN application? New fave! And what are your favourite phone applications??

Another online buy was my dress from Warehouse - the print is so unique, like a 60's hippie one. The cutouts are lovely at the shoulders, shows just the right amount of weekend skin. Perfect for the beginning of the weekend.... T.G.I.F!

I wear my hearts on my legs and mesh dress

Sunday, June 26, 2011

What I wore today: Luka mesh dress (find similar item here) , Into Fashion Blazer (find similar item here), Sportsgirl stockings (find item here), Mollini nude shoes (find similar item here), Diva Bangles, Fossil Watch (find item here), Asos socks

I'm quite a romantic at heart, even though I wear it rarely to express it. I get all fuzzy and warm watching romantic comedies - my favourite movie is Love Actually. My dreams as a kid, were to be able to dance like Michael Jackson (failed poorly, but I do express my inner MJ at my gym session of Zumba), and second, was to fall in love.

I did fall in love, multiple times - with bad boys, nerdy boys, gangsta boys, sweet boys, you name it. In the end I found my boyfriend Hughie and he's a sweetheart. I also fell in love with fashion and all the trends, even the one-off ones - puffy shoulders, bushy eyebrows, the epic failed microfibre flare pants.. but one fashion trend that has never failed me is a good old waistcut dress. I have a small waist so I love dresses cinched at the waist, its become a little bit like my signature dress. That's one love in my life I can always count on!

What style of dresses do you love?
