A Roadtrip. It's what I do best. This morning I woke up at 7am to capture a new memory. I asked my good friend John 'What car will epitomise and capture the spirit of a road-trip?' And he knew the perfect car. Picture this: An open top, two seater car with room for coffees zipping around those twisty roads of Sydney's National park and heading towards the scenic coasts of NSW. In a solid 1997 model Mazda MX5.
Scarves wrapped around our necks and faces we heading in at the break of day. With the long drive I sipped my coffee, collected my thoughts and soaked in the road, sky and hills. We parked at a beach and on that rare Sydney Winters Day we were alone with the bare blue sky and empty beaches. We did nothing but admire the Mx5 as its exterior caught the sunlight. It was such a peaceful and serene day.
This is what a good road-trip is all about. We didn't have a particular destination, it was all about the drive and good company. I'm thanking Westralian Auto Finance for inspiring me to do a post in conjunction with a car. It makes sense: car = road-trip = runaway and escape. And, I was itching to do something like this for a very long time.
Runaway, runaway, runaway....

  3. The Miata/MX-5 still tends to get a bad rap from most people, saying it's too girly or whatever. It is still one of the most affordable sports cars- let alone roadsters on the road anywhere in the world. Very interesting post with a car as cool as you are, Natalie. :)

  6. Was just randomly surfing along your website because I follow you on IG and thought I'd check your blog out, and I saw this post and I saw the MX5 thinking it looked so familiar and exactly the same as the one my boyfriend owns. And then I looked at the number plate. HAHA, what do you know, it's actually he's! Small world.
