Letting my Inner Goddess prowl with Charles & Grace Head Chain

Monday, August 13, 2012

Wearing: Charles and Grace Head Chain (picture 5002) thanks to Charles and Grace; Chicabooti top; Miss Cherry maxi skirt; Topshop Sandals; Asos Long Cuffs

I've recently had one of them crazy weekends where social events, sleep and shift work become back to back for four days straight. My weekend started on Thursday night where I went out drinking soju with my friends at Arisun (I ended up vomiting all my kimchi out, yuck!); Then on Friday my family put our 10% down for the new house. I worked through Friday Saturday and Sunday and squeezed in more drinking and increasingly less sleep.
The weekend storm is now over though, and I can be my normal alter-ego self again.
Thanks to Charles & Grace I was able to let my Goddess self out, they've graced me with this beautiful head chain in which I cannot wait to start wearing in the Spring and Summer. The detail was immaculate and fit my head perfectly, allowing me to let my Inner Goddess prowl in the breeze.

Catching the Breeze: Milk from a Thistle dress & Cali and Cale Shoes

Wednesday, July 18, 2012

Wearing: Milk from A Thistle maxi dress; Cali & Cale Sandals; Boohoo cuff; Moorea Seal head chain; Revlon 'Apricot Blaise' lipstick

I think I work too much. As well as my blog work (in which of course I love), I also do shift work at the casino. For example over the past 24 hours I worked two 8 hour shifts, with 4 hours sleep in between. Yet as I struggle to keep awake now, I am still smiling at these photos. The moment I put on this beautiful bird printed Maxi dress from Milk from a Thistle I felt like running through the fields. And I did just that. It also helped that I was wearing perfectly sculpted Cali & Cale sandals to help me frolic safely and comfortably. I am pretty clumsy, so safety is definitely a top priority for me.

Siren strappy heels (similar here $128 USD)
Country Road leather gloves (similar here $116 USD)

Hi all! Hope you're all doing fine. Thank you for every single comment, I am so overwhelmed with the kindness. Blogging is so much more fun than facebook and twitter combined!

Today it was a peaceful day. Last time I blogged my head was buzzing with wedding ideas for myself and for my friend (but mainly for her, because she is actually engaged), and it was so tiring.
But now, with the sun shining, and the birds tweeting, and the Spring breeze sweeping through, I was able to clear my head. Having a lot of spare time, I finally finished up with my errands now, and I now have  the time to read. I love reading, but with my fashion job I barely got through a book's chapter. Now I get to catch up.
On my to-read list: Summer and the City (Candance Bushnell), One Day (David Nicholls), Catch 22 (Joseph Heller) and the Wicked Grimmerie book (which is a photo diary of the musical).

What books are you guys reading now?

One thing that makes me happy, is seeing little kids on the bus/train who have their kids buried in their books. When the last book from Harry Potter came out, I saw this everywhere in Sydney, and that, was a fantastic book.
I hope everyone has a great week!!

Seduce Dress (find similar dress here)
Mooreaseal vintage head piece (find item here)
Unknown chain necklace (find item here)
Mollini shoes

Hi all! You've left some wonderful comments on my blog~ thank you all for the lovely compliments!

I went to a costume party last weekend, its was a 30th birthday bash themed "HEROES AND VILLAINS". I went as a "hero" as you can see, as Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love. It's such a perfect fit for me because I love romance and the power of love and all that mushy stuff.

Do you believe in the power of love?

Also had some fun playing with my friend's dogs. They are sooooo cute. Reminds me of my own dog Luna. Did you guys know, that I bought Luna as a black dog, with her black fur and black paws, then a few months later I cut her hair and she was suddenly white haired. I still don't know why....

Anyways, check out my friend's blog, she owns a food blog called Betty's Bites and she takes beautiful photos. She took mine today. Such a sweetheart <3

Wearing this vintage head peice reminds me of what and whom I love

What I wore today:
Vintage cashmere red cape (find similar item here)
Pink Rogue lace dress (find similar item here)
Mollini shoes (find similar shoes here)
Mooreaseal vintage head piece  (find it here or here)

Hi everyone! I've been reading everyone's comments and they are so lovely! You guys seem to have liked my "cute eggplant" look. Thank you. And you have all given me some great ideas on what to do on rainy days!
Today I'm wearing my new head piece I bought from Esty, I was so excited to get it in the mail! I found it on the Gary Pepper Vintage blog and she wore it so beautifully I couldn't resist. Absolute impulse buy! I hope you guys like how I've worn it.

So, I know I write alot about shopping and fashion but I guess its what I know, live and breathe. If I don't write about what I love, you guys will be have been bored a long time ago, because I don't have passion for anything else. It's like this saying I recently stumbled upon..."I'd rather be a failure in something that I love than a success in something that I hate" (George Burns).

Its such a powerful quote it got me thinking. I love shopping and fashion, and so many other things, and through my blog I get to express it. Even if no-one reads my blog, at least I have enjoyed the journey thus far and it gives me pure happiness. I'd rather fail in doing this than being successful in something I hate (I cannot name it here because I don't want certain co-workers getting ideas, haha).
Tell me, everyone, if you have read the quote above, and if you have thought about your passions in life? What are they? I would love to know.

.....And speaking of shopping, I saw Atlantic-Pacific's blog and found this absolutely darling stripe dress (pictured below), and I want it! I found the exact one here!
