Studs and Leather: Who is Hue Black Studded Clutch thanks to Le Tan!

Friday, March 30, 2012

Who is Hue clutch thanks to Le Tan, Vintage Oversized shirt, Blue Juice sleeveless shirt, Chicabooti sequin skirt (similar here), Sportsgirl black boots, General Pants Co. necklace, Asos spike bracelet (similar here), Topshop 'Brighton Rock' lipstick

Thanks to a Facebook competition held by Le Tan, I won a great leather and studded clutch from Who is Hue. It's the perfect size for when I head out to the city for a good night of fun (in which I have had indeed), and it suited my all black "textured" ensemble.
I had a browse of the Who is Hue website, and this Australian store has some amazing bags, especially this pink neon satchel bag and this classic tan bag  in which one day I get to add to my collection.
I am so happy to receive such a great clutch as a prize - as I don't win many things. So to add a freebie to a wardrobe I know that will keep expanding is a bonus!

For a special occasion, some head to toe yellow pleated fun!

Tuesday, March 27, 2012

Yellow Pop Pocket shirt from Beginning Boutique, Mustard Pony belt from Beginning Boutique, D&L yellow pleated skirt (similar here), Asos bag (similar here), Topshop wedges, Into Fashion blazer

My very sweet boyfriend took me to: "HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON: ARENA SPECTACULAR" here in Sydney. If you've watched the super cute movie featuring the Nightfury dragon 'Toothless' than you would love this. Its a live show, using dragon robots and an interactive visual and sound stage. The dragons were life scaled and moved like a real dragon would. The dragons breathed fire and smoke and can fly, it really is an amazing sight. Me and my boyfriend shared popcorn, beer and we even bought matching Viking hats.
Viking hat went very well with my yellow outfit, I especially love my pretty skirt that I bust out for special occasions such as these.

Style Diary February 2012: A collection of my favourite looks

Sunday, March 25, 2012

Just a collection of my looks from February this year. I can tell I was enjoying summer very much and now I am missing it already. Sydney heads into Autumn and I am already pulling out the cardigans and light jackets from storage. Bittersweet.

Also, I'd love to thank POSE, a popular phone application that showcases fashion. It is also available on the web. I am a featured poser and have been using it since last year. I now have over 32,500 followers. I'd love for you to check it out!

My Fur Jacket and My Sweet Escape..

Friday, March 23, 2012

Fur jacket from Nasty Gal (similar here), MUSE t-shirt from MUSE Concert 2011, Mustard 'Pony' belt from Beginning Boutique, Leopard skirt from Bardot (similar here), Boots from Sportsgirl

Does anyone remember the singer Michelle Branch? She was one of my favourite singers when I was younger. I loved her songs "Goodbye to you" and "All you wanted" - I escaped the world with her lyrics and I loved the way her music made me feel.
I remember her again because last night I youtubed "best feel-good songs" and her clip popped up in a compilation video... all those memories of being a teenager came flooding back.
I've edited my photos today as a Michelle Branch tribute - her video clips had rock appeal, a washed out look and sepia tones, with backdrops of the American highway, yellow sunsets and golden fields. The sweetest escape.

Guest Blogger Interviews March 2012, and the winner of my blog giveaway!

Tuesday, March 20, 2012
Ly Zhang of 'Eternal Optimist' - the winner of my blog giveaway!

Ly Zhang of 'Eternal Optimist'

1) Can you tell us a little about yourself and your blog?
I'm Ly (Lee) from the little blog, Eternal Optimist. I'm a recent college graduate who's franticly studying for the MCATs because I can't bear to wait another minute not being a part of Doctors without Borders.
2) How you first got involved in with blogging?
After graduating I noticed that due to the lack of time I've "lost" all my hobbies. After contemplating for months I decided to start a lifestyle/fashion blog. I blog about a various range of topics from beauty DIYs to cooking to fashion. Since I'm on an endless quest to discover my personal style I also egoistically post about my daily outfits. I may not have style that elicits profound emotions or intrigues street photgs, but I dress for me and I'm okay with that. So if any of those topics interest you feel free to come stalk me over at my blog!
3) Name some of the bloggers whom you look up to and why?
Someone once told me that whatever you're doing while you're procrastinating is what you should be doing as your job. In that case, I should be either a professional blog reader and/or reality tv show obsessor. There are so many blogs out there that I enjoy from, fashion to strictly cooking. I, of course, adore Natalie's blog. Her style is too die for! She embodies both  edginess and romance. I also love Ring My Bell, Smitten Kitchen, The Cherry Blossom Girl, A Beautiful Mess, and The Rockstar Diaries. Just to name a couple (okay, seven).

Betty of 'Bettys Bites' - A beautiful food blog

Betty of 'Bettys Bites'

1) Can you tell us a little about yourself and your blog?
I'm a happy -go-lucky type of gal, always doing something (I have trouble sitting still haha) I am an instagrammer ('betsybooboos' if you want to check out what I've been nomming on lately!), Nowadays even though my blog is on a mini-hiatus (I shall be back soon I promise!) I am still happily snapping up pictures of food either with my iphone or my Nikon D90. When I am NOT eating my heart out, I like to do yoga and kick boxing, but my true passion lies in the kitchen - I love to cook and bake!
2) How you first got involved in with blogging?
I started my blog Bettys Bites because I loved eating out and taking photos of my food, and I thought it would be fun to combine the two and publish it online for others to read. However, I also started baking and cooking things at home so sharing recipes became a part of my blog as well :)
3) Name some of the bloggers whom you look up to and why?

Black and White Series: Me and some t-shirts

Saturday, March 17, 2012

'The Beatles' T-shirt from Forever 21; 'American Flag' T-shirt from Forever 21, Denim shorts from One Teaspoon (Beginning Boutique), Beanie from General Pants, Long Cuff from Miss Selfridge

I love coloured photography, but sometimes great t-shirts like these don't need impressive colour photography to be impressive. These tees I picked up from Forever 21 are comfortable and make a statement, and I love to wear them on relaxing days.
I decided on a black and white experiment, and whilst I was scared at first - I think my editing skills made them look OK. I hope you enjoy these new type of photos. Black and white editing really helps set an edgy mood, don't you think? I feel like I'm pure rock 'n' roll.

When I am at the edge of the world, I only dream in colour....

Thursday, March 15, 2012

'Red Reunion Dress' from Beginning Boutique, Pony Mustard Belt from Beginning Boutique, Bag from Topshop, Sandals from Topshop, Brighton Rock Lipstick from Topshop, Friendship Bracelets from Beginning Boutique, Long Cuff from Miss Selfridge

Yesterday was so beautiful - a bright sun, a cloudless sky, and a warm breeze. These are some of the best things about Sydney, that the weather can bring you happiness even in Autumn. Me and Hughie drove up to Bronte Beach, parked the car and strolled along the coast to Bondi Beach for about an hour. It's a magnificent view, there are open gates that allow you to bravely leave the footpath and walk to the edge of cliffs. I always hang my feet over the edge.
I sat there for a long time watching dogs play in the water below and the cruise ships float away from Sydney, willing the people on those ships a great escape. What a beautiful day.
