From the Archives: Sculpture by the Sea 2012 Bondi Beach (all photography done by me and Hughie on Nikon D60 50mm f1.4 lens)

This was my first time attending Sculpture by the Sea in my life and it took me by surprise on just how amazing it really was. In Sydney we have a beautiful beach, and its called Bondi Beach. To see it looking even more beautiful with these fun and lighthearted sculptures made my Aussie heart swell with pride.
Lots of Aussies I know complain we don't have enough to do in Sydney but I think this sort of event proves them wrong. Us Aussies are full of imagination and we shouldn't take events like this for granted. Whoever decided to turn our open seas into a free art gallery incorporating cliffs and the sand is genius.

Happy Australia Day everyone! I celebrate today firstly by featuring Australian designers and brands (mainly Sydney based Dragstar of course) and then heading out to Montrose farm to berry pick with my boyfriend. After that I have an Aussie BBQ ahead at a friends' place. I will finish off with a beer or two. See you tomorrow!

A Campaign: Sydney label Dragstar

I was introduced to Dragstar recently and visited their Flagship store in Newtown.
With a background in graphic design, photography and jewellery-making, Celia Morris started Dragstar Clothing in the mid '90's, selling her modern, retro-inspired women's wear through market stalls in Sydney, leading to her two storey store in Newtown. Her approach is more graphic, concentrating on unique cuts and customised fabrics, leading to a loyal following throughout  Sydney. 
Still own and designed all by Celia, the items are all Australian-made, and thus supoorts Australia jobs and businesses. With this is mind, you can be confident that picking up a peice from Dragstar means you'll be wearing something absolutely unique and one-of-a-kind.
