From the Morning to the Evening

The "summer" weather here in Sydney has really been unpredictable these days: from 34 degree temperatures to humid storms to strong winds and then back to 34 degrees. I was caught up the other day in strong winds and I was in a floaty dress. I instantly pinned myself to the walls to make sure my undergarments weren't exposed. It was not fun!

So for a solution: I teamed up lightweight leggings, singlet and jacket for a day to night look. I'm not afraid to wear sequins for the day, I personally think its bold and full of personality. Just like Carrie from Sex and The City (which this jacket is named after), which is quite appropriate. I need to take more style notes from Carrie, I do own all the TV series and movies on DVD and several books dedicated to her fashion. Hmmm.

Finally I have recovered from my crazy four day weekend (which ended with a 10 hour shift at work) and my highlight was definitely Stereosonic! The music festival featured Calvin Harris, Tiesto, Example and Avicci. I decided on a black on black outfit with cute cat ears instead of my usual white tee or singlet with pale blue denim shorts. I danced for at least 7 hours, charged on red bull and vodka. I ate bad food - hot chips, chewing gum and old hot dogs. I also almost passed out under the hot sun but as from my years of music festival experiences I just carried on, on, on and on.. letting the music carry me away.

I usually use sorbolene cream in generous amounts, it's not perfumed and is basic so it simply does its job for when I shower.
I was then introduced to Pacifica Perfume and their Body Butters. Indian Coconut Nectar is my favourite scent - it reminds me of summer, beaches and sunsets in Cambodia. I wear it as my perfume (it also comes in a solid wax perfume and roll on) and is perfect for the Aussie beach days. Pacifica Perfume have a HUGE range of scents: think California Star Jasmine, Mexican Cocoa and French Lilac.

With my Balayage/Dip Dyed Hair, I like to wear it curly or straight. I've been sporting this ombre look for a year now and I still love it. I hooked up with Sabrina from Blow Dry Bar in Sans Souci Sydney to get my hair washed and curled - and within 45 mins, she transformed my straight balayage hair to a set of beautiful bouncy curls done expertly with a GHD iron. I felt so glamorous afterwards, I made sure I wore a glamorous outfit for that night.
The salon itself is a stunner, set in black and red decor with glass shelves for their products and elegant coolers for their champagne. The staff were lovely and they really accommodated me offering me a glass of champagne tea or coffee while I was getting glammed up. I also noticed they are in association with the dandelion (it's part of their logo) and I happily showed them my own dandelion tattoo behind my ear.
