Mayfield Garden's Winter Festival (Part One)

Sunday, August 2, 2020

Wearing: Wool Coat & Beanie from Nasty Gal; Bettina Liano Jeans; Boots from Asos

Visiting: Mayfield Gardens during Winter Festival, 530 Mayfield Road, Oberon, NSW 2787. Winter Festival fee per person: $26.00 AUD per person. Last garden entry is 3pm. The garden shuts at 4:30pm (during Winter). All photos taken by me and Hai with Canon D70 DSLR

Mayfield open hours are 9.00am to 4.30pm Monday through to Sunday and we visited during the July Winter Festival where you get access to the full garden, including the famous hedge maze. This is an additional 49 hectares to explore.
The Gardens were a two and a half hour drive for us and we spent most of it singing along  to trashy pop songs while scoffing down 7/11 coffee.
We arrived at 10am with an initial lunch reservation of 12.30pm. Unfortunately the booking was not recorded so we re-booked for 2.30pm instead, which worked out better because we spent about three and a half hours exploring the whole garden before coming back. This meant we didn't have to break up our garden walk; the hedge maze was all the way in the back.
We grabbed coffees from the cafe and walked hand in hand through the emasculate gardens. The front desk gave us a huge map to follow. Of course we practised social distancing, washed hands regularly and made sure we were healthy before we made the trip.
Even though most trees were bare, the winter sunshine still made the place glow. A winter day is still very beautiful in Australia, even if it doesn't snow. More to come <3
