Letting my Inner Goddess prowl with Charles & Grace Head Chain

Monday, August 13, 2012

Wearing: Charles and Grace Head Chain (picture 5002) thanks to Charles and Grace; Chicabooti top; Miss Cherry maxi skirt; Topshop Sandals; Asos Long Cuffs

I've recently had one of them crazy weekends where social events, sleep and shift work become back to back for four days straight. My weekend started on Thursday night where I went out drinking soju with my friends at Arisun (I ended up vomiting all my kimchi out, yuck!); Then on Friday my family put our 10% down for the new house. I worked through Friday Saturday and Sunday and squeezed in more drinking and increasingly less sleep.
The weekend storm is now over though, and I can be my normal alter-ego self again.
Thanks to Charles & Grace I was able to let my Goddess self out, they've graced me with this beautiful head chain in which I cannot wait to start wearing in the Spring and Summer. The detail was immaculate and fit my head perfectly, allowing me to let my Inner Goddess prowl in the breeze.

The Black Dark walk to the Wild side

Wearing: Nasty Gal Dita Bustier; D&L Maxi Skirt; Boohoo cuff; Diva Necklace; Topshop Sandals; Illamasqua Box Lipstick

I've come across a feeling of anger lately. I feel angry because I feel trapped and helpless in my own world.

...I like my work but I hate that I haven't had a weekend night off in 6 weeks.
I like my blog but I hate that the direction is going the wrong way.
I like my own style but I hate that I feel judged by the blogging world sometimes.
I like Lana Del Rey but I hate that I feel wholly connected to the lyrics of "Born to Die".
I like my friends and friendships but I hate how I am let down when I need it most sometimes.

I've decided to go to a style I love - dark, feminine, free and mysterious to reflect how I feel. I haven't worn something like this in a long time. I wish I could control how I feel about my life right now the same way I control the way I dress... I wish I had the confidence to defy my feelings at the moment but.. social conventions and my own personality traps me.

DIY maxi skirt worn as a dress
Wittner Sandals (similar here)
Sportsgirl belt (similar here)
Market/Diva Bracelets (similar here)/ Necklace (similar here and here)

Hi all, I hope everyone has been great. I'm going to keep this post short, because I was abit unhappy and heartbroken today. So when I'm unhappy I tend to turn to music, TV, food and reading....

-Music (The Beatles and playing piano)
-TV (Glee and How I met your Mother)
-Food (Ice cream and Pizza)
-Reading ('One Day' book)
....this is what I did today.

Yesterday, I was in a happier mood though because I was at the beach, beautiful famous Bondi Beach until 7PM and I was flying a kite. Love flying a kite, reminds me of a kid :)
This is my outfit from yesterday, I made this skirt myself (worn as a dress though) and it's so cool to the touch and the print is a favourite of mine.
What do you guys do when you're unhappy?

Let me know, enlighten me...!

xx Natalie

I wear a mink DIY maxi skirt, and suddenly I'm in the tropics

Forever New sequin crop top (similar here)
DIY maxi skirt knotted (similar here)
H&M cardigan (similar here)
China Markets sandals (similar here)

Hi all! Thank you again for such beautiful comments, they really keep me going and making me believe that the blogging world can be kinder than most worlds.
I'm doing a quick post today, because I've got to head out soon to meet my best friends in the city. I'm wearing my maxi skirt that I sewn myself a few weeks ago, and is now perfect for the Spring weather in Sydney. I bought this fabric because it was a stunning mink color, and the silky heavy fabric was nice to the touch. I paired it with a crop sequin top (sorry for the bare midriff!) and a leather belt. My make-up is simple; a bright orange blush, with black and gold eyeliner and a pale pink lipstick (all my makeup is MAC). Standing around the tropical-like green plants really made me feel I was in India or south east Asia.

Speaking of South east Asia, my mom is actually staying in Cambodia right now until November, she rang me today saying there are crazing floods around the Mekong River and has to get around by boats. But she is safe, and she seems to enjoy it.

I need to go on holidays, hopefully New York soon <3
I'm off to meet my friends now! Have a great weekend!
xx Natalie

P.S I love love love this ASOS parka. I'm not in Autumn though :(

Time for a casual look, a vintage jumper and some denim

Vintage knit jumper
Mui Mui sunglasses (similar item here)

Hi all! I hope you've all been well. I've been so stoked reading all the sweet comments from my last post. It was very special post for me and I'm glad you guys were able to see that. Again thanks to Nursadel for the great photography!

Today, I'm in a more laid-back look, as you know I can't dress up all the time! I will freeze to death in the winter here in Sydney, haha. For the past week (of unemployment), I've been a housewife, cleaning and cooking, and looking after my dogs. I spend my nights with my boyfriend, after he finishes work. Its so relaxing, I have to say. For months I was the one working extra hard and my boyfriend being the stay-at-home man, so its so fun to get the roles reversed.

I don't often wear jeans, I'm more of a dress wearing sort of girl, but sometimes you need to just want to walk out the house without the worry of the wind flipping up the hem lines. I love the shades of red I'm rocking as well, great for the winter here.

I leave you with some behind the scenes photos taken by my boyfriend on my last shoot!
Enjoy!!

xx Natalie

Paper Scissors crop top
Revlon "Orchid Bleach" lipstick

Hi all! Thank you again and again and again, for all the sweet comments you have left me on my last blog post. Alot of you love my unexpected clash of colours, and embrace me with open arms. Thanks!!
I am now in the process of visiting all of your blogs!

This post, is a very special post. I was contacted by local blogger/photographer Nusardel Oshana, writer of Mint Maison , and he wanted to take some photos of me for my next blog post. I was very much honored so we took to a local pretty hill and he took some stunning photos. Nusardel is a very talented photographer, he knows of things better than I do, and he thinks of details such as lighting and shadows.

For my outfit, I wore a cropped bodycon top, and wore my favourite maxi skirt. As I wore all black, I added a dash of colour with a bright pink lipstick. Luckily it was windy this day, and the way my maxi skirt floated and swept across the floor really helped give the photos movement and energy.

Thank you Nusardel for the fantastic photos! Don't forget to check out his blog here, and his Flickr account here.
